Driver Side Impact

Giving the music scene a taste of new music, Driver Side Impact will be “marching in” to many hearts as well as ears. With their catchy lyrics and easy-to-dance to music, these guys, straight out of Cleveland Ohio, are slowly working their way up. Signed with Victory Records, Driver Side Impact had released their debut album in May of this year. After losing their keyboardist to college, they are still attempting to work their way all over the country. Currently finishing up the Victory Records Tour, Driver Side Impact has been to many cities including New York City, NY, Gaines Ville, FL, and even Omaha, NE. “It’s like a dream come true,” explains front man Branden Langhals. “In success terms of the tour, we are having great turn outs every night!”
Not only do these guys put on a great show, but they also love hanging out with their fans afterwards. “We love it, we are trying to get everyone to realize that we are the same people that they are and there’s like no barrier between us and them or any of that crap.”
Like everyone else, Driver Side Impact also has it’s musical influences and for Langhals, it’s the band, Saves the Day. “Saves the Day is ultimately one of my biggest influences and I know that’s the same thing for Teddy our bassist, which is a pretty big Saves the Day fan too, but he also likes a lot of indie stuff as well. Mikey our other guitarist, he used to be in a bunch of hardcore metal bands, he kinda brings that little influence into us too. He’s also into really ambient things, that’s why he have a ton of quicker ambient guitar parts.”
While on tour, they’ve had many crazy experiences, but there seems to be one that stands out above the rest. “One of the most memorable things I think happened on our very first tour. We stayed at, it’s kinda of weird, we stayed at one of my best friends ex girlfriends houses and the girl who we were staying with, we were friends with, went to bed and we had already met all of her room mates, but one of her room mates went out drinking that night and got so drunk that when she came back into the house, we were all sleeping and being like total angels and were in bed at like 2:00 A.M., and she walks into the house and spazzes out at us. She was like all of you emo freaks need to go back to your village and blablablablabla. She started spazzing out at us, she picked up Jack’s cell phone and threw it on the ground. We just kept on pretending we were sleeping and thinking what do you do with this happening right now. Yeah, she freaked out and caused this huge problem, we like finally woke up and were like you met us earlier and were like don’t you remember us? She’s like who are you guys and get out of my house! Your not welcome here. So we woke up the girl we were staying with which was her room mate and were like… uh your room mate is spazzing on us right now. So they ended up getting into this really big fight with everyone crying and it was really awkward.”
In the end, Driver Side Impact is just hoping, that by putting themselves out there, people will give them a chance. “People aren’t going to know who you are and eventually they will and hopefully some do now and they like you.”
